Lady GaGa, full name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, is an American female theatrical dance-pop singer-songwriter and musician, born in New York on March 20, 1986. She was discovered by Akon while writing songs for pop acts like the Pussycat Dolls, and she signed on to a joint deal with Akon’s own label. Since then, she began work on her own album The Fame, released in 2008. Her inspirations are glam rockers like David Bowie, Queen, Madonna and Michael Jackson. In 2008, she rose to fame with her chart-topping debut album The Fame, and witnessed her international hit single “Just Dance” get nominated for Best Dance Recording at the 51st Grammy Awards. Her hits singles "Just Dance" and “Poker Face” were international hits upon release.
